7 Days Tour Including The Heritage Sites Of Jordan:  Jerash - Amman City Tour - Baptism Site - Madaba - Mount Nebo - Petra - Wadi Rum - Aqaba - Dead Sea


Day 1

Amman Airport - Amman Overnight

Meet and assist upon arrival at Amman airport, and drive to Amman and check in to the hotel for overnight.

Day 2

Amman Hotel - Jerash Visit - Amman City Tour - Amman Overnight

Breakfast at the hotel and drive to visit the Greco-Roman city of Jerash which is the largest and best preserved Roman city outside of Rome. Afterwards return to Amman for a city tour of the capital with visits to the Amman Citadel and Roman Amphitheater. Then return to the hotel in Amman for overnight.

Day 3

Amman Hotel - Baptism Site Visit - Madaba Visit - Mount Nebo Visit - Petra Overnight

After breakfast in hotel, drive to visit The Baptism Site of Jesus Christ at the Jordan River, known as Bethany Beyond the Jordan River. Then continue to visit Oldest mosaic map of the region in Madaba’s St. George Church. From there continue to Mount Nebo and visit Moses’ Shrine overlooking the Jordan Valley. Then continue to Petra and check in at the hotel for overnight.

Day 4

Petra Hotel - Petra Visit - Wadi Rum Overnight

After breakfast in hotel, drive to visit the World Wonder, Petra. This is Jordan’s Crown Jewel of Archaeological heritage. The city was built by the Nabateans as their capital over 2000 years ago along the routes controlling the trade between the Arab Peninsula, Africa, Asia, and the Mediterranean basin, making it a great success and allowed the city to prosper. After the visit, drive to Wadi Rum and check in at the private camp for dinner under the stars and overnight in private tents.

Day 5

Wadi Rum Camp - Wadi Rum Visit - Aqaba Overnight

Breakfast at the camp and start with a Jeep Tour over the dunes of Wadi Rum for 2 hours. After the tour, drive close by to the coastal city of Aqaba. Check in at the hotel and time to enjoy the sun and beaches of Aqaba and overnight at the hotel.

Day 6

Aqaba Hotel - Dead Sea Overnight

Breakfast at the resort, and check out heading to the Dead Sea. Upon arrival, check in and take the time to enjoy the Dead Sea’s unique quality, beach, salt water, and mud. Hotels offer great facilities and spas. Overnight at the Resort.

Day 7

Dead Sea Hotel - Amman Airport Departure

Breakfast at the hotel and leisure time until departure to the airport for flight back home.

Visits Details:

1- Jerash / The Greco Roman city of Jerash known as Gerasa in ancient times is 45km north of Amman. Entry to the site is through the imposing Hadrian Arch erected to honor the visit of Roman Emperor Hadrian in the 2nd century AD. A tour of the city will includes visits to the Hippodrome, the Oval Forum with its 56 Ionic columns, the Temple of Zeus, the 5000 seat South Theater, the Colonnaded Street and the Temple of Artemis.

2- Amman / A modern capital with a population of around 4 million people. Its been inhabited since the Neolithic period and was also known as Rabath Ammon in the Iron age and Philadelphia during the Greek & Roman times. The Citadel- located on one of Amman’s hills - is home to the Roman Hercules Temple and Islamic Ummayad Palace. The Citadel overlooks the Roman Amphitheater in downtown Amman, which is cut into the side of a hill and seats more than 6000 spectators.

• The Citadel (Temple of Hercules, Umayyad palace & Byzantine church).

• Downtown gold souk and old city market.

3- Baptism Site / (Al-Maghtas) is a unique Christian pilgrimage site associated with the baptism of Jesus Christ. It is known as the location where Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist and is considered the place of the spiritual birth of Jesus Christ.

4- Madaba / The town of Madaba lies south of Amman along the ancient Kings Highway. The city is known for its spectacular collection of Byzantine Mosaics. The Greek Orthodox Church of St George in the center of the town houses the famous Byzantine era mosaic map of the Holy Land depicting valleys, hills and villages from Jerusalem to the Nile. Other churches and location around the town host other colorful mosaics.

• Church of St. George- 6th-century mosaic map of the Holy Land in the Greek Orthodox.
• Apostles church.

5- Mount Nebo / Reputed to be Moses burial place after he saw the “Promised Land”. From the Franciscan Church built on the remains of the Byzantine Monastery, there is a commanding view of the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea and the hills of the Holy Land. The interior of the church contains remnants of mosaic floors from different periods.

6- Petra / The capital city of the Nabatean Arabs is one of the most famous archeological sites in the world and Jordan’s national treasure. Petra –which means Rose Red city, gets its name from the color of the rocky mountains the city is carved into. The city prospered in the 1st century AD through the trade of frankincense, myrrh, and spices. The Romans annexed the thriving city, but abandoned it in mid of the 4th century after a strong earthquake hit the city. The city was rediscovered by a Swiss explorer Johannes Burckhardt in 1812. Today Petra is a UNESCO World Heritage site and is visited by thousands of people every day.

• Al Khazneh (The Treasury) a temple with an ornate 45m-high Greek-style façade.

7- Wadi Rum / A colorful desert with sandstone mountains and sheer cliffs that resemble a landscape from Mars. It’s a unique landscape that has been the backdrop of several Hollywood films over the years. Tourists flock to this desert to enjoy watching sunsets, desert safaris, trekking, camping and other adventurous activities.

8- Aqaba / Jordan’s jewel on the Red Sea and its only port. The once quiet fishing town is a thriving city with many beach resorts, hotels and scuba diving clubs. A lot to do in the city including water sports, world class golf, shopping in the local souks and markets, or just soaking in the sun on the sandy beaches.

• Free time in Aqaba.

9- Dead Sea / A salt lake whose banks are more than 400m below sea level, the lowest point on dry land. It's famously hypersaline water makes floating easy, and its mineral-rich black mud is used for therapeutic and cosmetic treatments at area resorts. The surrounding desert offers many oases and historic sites.

• Free time at Dead Sea.
